Lake Wylie, SC · Christmas Lights & Permanent LED

Christmas Light Installation on Lake Wylie, SC

Waterfront lighting is a two-view problem: the street sees your front, the lake sees everything else. We design Lake Wylie displays for both, install and maintain them, take them down afterwards, and fit permanent LED rooflines that hold the shoreline all year.

Free on-site design consultation, no obligation.

Lighting the South Carolina
side of the lake.

Lake Wylie is a Catawba River reservoir, and its South Carolina shore (the York County side, from the narrow coves at the lower end up to the wide water at the top) is one of the most reflective places to hang a light anywhere near Charlotte. A lakefront house is seen twice. Once from the road, the way every house is, and again from the water, where the whole rear elevation reads at once, nothing hides behind a hedge, and the surface repeats every bulb back at you. A plan drawn from the driveway alone gets that second view wrong every single time, so we walk both before anything is quoted.

The shoreline itself changes what works. In a tight cove your lights share a frame with the neighbors across the water, so spacing and color temperature matter more than volume; on an open reach only clean, continuous lines survive the distance, because saturated hues go muddy long before they reach the far bank. Docks, boathouses, and the trees along the bank are part of the composition either way. And for a house that faces water, permanent LED makes the strongest case there is: strips hidden in the roofline channel, invisible in daylight, app-controlled after dark, sixteen million colors and a 25-year warranty, a clean architectural line every night of the year instead of six weeks.

Trees, Wreaths & Garland

Trunk wraps and canopy lighting for the trees between the house and the bank, plus wreaths, garland, and porch details on the street side. Sized to finish the roofline rather than compete with it.

Commercial & HOA

Clubhouses, marinas, entrance monuments, lakeside common areas, and storefronts, scoped around business hours so nothing blocks a doorway in December. One point of contact, one design, one invoice.

Around the shoreline.

The Lake Wylie community itself is unincorporated York County: big waterfront lots, long private drives, deep tree lines between the house and the bank, and a lot of roofline per property. Those are the homes where trunk wraps and canopy lighting earn their place, because the trees stand between your display and the water and either frame it or swallow it. We light the drive as deliberately as the roof.

Tega Cay runs out into the lake on peninsulas, so a house there can be visible from its own street, from the water, and from the far side of a cove all at once. Fort Mill sits just inland with a historic Main Street and neighborhoods that fill up fast in December, and Rock Hill is a short run south. It is all one route for our crews, which is why a lake job and a town job often share a day.

At the top of the lake, Belmont and Gastonia hold the northern shore, and Steele Creek looks across the water from the east. Same crew, same design process, same free on-site consultation wherever your house sits on the water.

The install calendar fills before Thanksgiving, and waterfront homes get scheduled first because they take two design passes instead of one. Book the free on-site consultation now and choose your date. Permanent LED systems install year-round, so the quiet months are the easiest time to book one.

Lake Wylie questions

Yes. We cover the South Carolina shoreline, including the Lake Wylie community, Tega Cay out on the peninsulas, and Fort Mill just inland, plus Belmont, Gastonia, and Steele Creek at the other end of the water. If you are not sure whether your street is covered, call (704) 326-2024 and we will tell you straight.

Yes, and it is the reason we walk a waterfront property twice. From the water the entire rear elevation reads at once and the surface reflects every light back, so we carry those runs the full length of the roof instead of stopping at the corners, and we favor warm white on the lake side because it keeps its color at distance where saturated hues wash out.

Before the leaves are down, ideally. The install calendar fills ahead of Thanksgiving, and waterfront homes get scheduled early because they take the most design time and the most crew time. A free consultation in early fall locks your date in. Permanent LED systems install year-round, so those are straightforward to schedule in any month.

It depends on the size of the roofline and the scope of the display. Most residential seasonal installations run from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars, and a waterfront home with two elevations to light sits higher up that range than a standard street lot. Permanent LED systems are quoted by linear roofline footage. Either way the on-site design consultation is free and there is no obligation.

Yes. Takedown and storage are included in every seasonal Christmas light package. We schedule removal after the holidays and store your lights until next season, so you never touch a ladder.
