Christmas Light Installation in Matthews, NC
Downtown Matthews lights the way a small town should: garland on the brick, wreaths at the doors, warm runs above the sidewalk. Out under the tree canopy we outline rooflines, wrap trunks, and install permanent LED systems you run from your phone all year.

Lighting Matthews
for the holidays.
Matthews still reads as a town rather than a suburb, and its lighting should too. The historic core around Trade Street and Matthews Station Street is brick, low, and walkable: architecture that takes garland, wreaths, and a warm roofline run far better than anything that blinks. On Saturday mornings the Matthews Community Farmers’ Market fills North Trade Street; a lit block does the same job after dark in December.
Then there is the canopy. Matthews sits under some of the tallest hardwoods in the region, and that changes the design brief entirely. On a heavily shaded lot a roofline can disappear behind branches, so we plan in layers: the outline up top, trunk wraps at eye level, and canopy lighting threaded into the front-yard trees. The trees are the reason a Matthews street looks lit rather than merely decorated.
Newer construction toward Highway 51 and the Stallings and Weddington lines hands us the opposite condition: open lots, straight fascia, and elevations that hold a permanent LED channel perfectly. Those strips sit inside the roofline and vanish in daylight, then run whatever you want after dark: Christmas in December, orange in October, plain warm white the rest of the year. Sixteen million colors and a 25-year warranty, installed once.

What we install in Matthews
Christmas Light Displays
Rooflines, peaks, dormers, and porch columns outlined in commercial-grade weatherproof product, cut to your house rather than pulled off a shelf. Design, installation, mid-season maintenance, takedown, and storage all sit in one package.
Christmas lighting details →Permanent LED Roofline Lighting
Architectural LED strips hidden inside the roofline channel, invisible by day, fully app-controlled at night. Sixteen million colors, programmable scenes for every holiday, and a 25-year warranty. The newer builds off Highway 51 take the channel especially cleanly.

The canopy is the whole point in Matthews: trunk wraps and canopy lighting for the big hardwoods off Sardis Road, plus wreaths, garland, and porch detail. On a shaded lot this layer matters more than the roofline does.

Trade Street storefronts, the shops near Renfrows, clubhouses, entrance monuments, and HOA common areas, scoped around business hours so a market Saturday is never interrupted. One design, one point of contact, one invoice.

The established wooded pockets (Sardis Forest, Sardis Plantation, and the streets around Brightmoor) were built out mainly in the late 1970s and 1980s, and they sit under the tallest trees in town. Rooflines there run lower and longer than the newer stock, and half of what you see from the road comes off the trunks and canopy rather than the eaves. We design those two layers together, or the house ends up hidden.
Around historic Crestdale and the older homes near downtown, restraint wins. Smaller, older elevations look right in warm white with wreaths and garland at the porch, and we size everything to the house instead of shrinking a big-subdivision plan to fit. Out toward Four Mile Creek and the Highway 51 communities the elevations get taller and squarer: more two-story gable, more dormer, more linear footage, and the strongest case on this side of town for a permanent system.
Downtown is its own job. The brick storefronts along Trade Street and the shops near Renfrows want garland, wreaths, and a warm run at the roofline, the sort of display that makes a block worth walking on a cold evening. We install around business hours, and HOA common areas, clubhouses, and entrance monuments are priced the same way homes are: free on-site design consultation, then a fixed number.

Matthews questions
Yes. We install throughout Matthews, including Sardis Forest, Sardis Plantation, Brightmoor, Crestdale, the Four Mile Creek area, and the communities along Highway 51 toward Stallings and Weddington, plus historic downtown. If you are not sure whether your street is covered, call (704) 326-2024 and we will tell you straight.
Early fall is the safe answer. Our install calendar fills before Thanksgiving, and downtown storefront work has to be scheduled around business hours, which uses up December quickly. Booking the free consultation early locks in your date. Permanent LED systems install year-round, so those are easiest to schedule in the off-season.
It depends on the size of the roofline, how many trees you want lit, and the scope of the display. Most residential seasonal installations run from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. Permanent LED systems are quoted by linear roofline footage. The on-site design consultation is free, with no obligation either way.
Yes. Takedown and storage are included in every seasonal Christmas light package. We schedule removal after the holidays and store your lights until next season, so you never touch a ladder.
It will, but only if the design accounts for the trees. Under the big hardwoods off Sardis Road a roofline outline on its own can vanish behind branches, so we work in layers: the outline up top, trunk wraps at eye level, and canopy lighting threaded into the trees themselves. On a shaded Matthews lot the trees usually carry more of the display than the house does, and we will walk you through exactly how that looks at the free on-site consultation.
